Below is a gallery of some of our past activities:

It was wonderful that some of our churches were able to hold communion services again socially distanced, but gathered together.
These pictures were from Sutton Montis worshipping in the churchyard.

MOTHERING SUNDAY 2021
“Since St Andrew’s Church, Corton Denham, has been locked down (except for Tuesday morning Personal Prayers), we have been taking the church “out” into the village.
Mothering Sunday saw a lovely You Tube Video by Mike Jackson and many posies were prepared and distributed by the Church Flower Arranging Ladies with little cards. They went mostly to our villagers living on their own.””Say it with flowers.”
Small posies of flowers were delivered to every household in Weston Bampfylde and Little Weston to celebrate Mothing Sunday our 2 very amateur florists got busy and the simple message ‘To brighten up you day with love from all at Holy Cross Church’ was much appreciated. One lady who had been busy during the week preparing posies for school children was delighted to receive one herself. One gentleman said that the flowers were now in pride of place in his house, there were also comments that at a time when many are separated from their families it was nice to know that someone was thinking of them. Sometimes a few flowers given with love are all it takes to put a smile on someone’s face.”The flower team at Holy Trinity, Sutton Montis prepared posies of spring flowers for all the ‘Mum’s’ of the congregation and also the wider village in recognition of Mothering Sunday on 14th March. The posies, together with a card and the best wishes of the Churchwardens and members of the PCC of the church, were delivered to ‘Cider Cottage’ for collection by the three men of the PCC who distributed them to various addresses in the village. Before Coronavirus, the posies were handed out during the traditional Mothering Sunday service in the church and the posies this year enabled other treasured memories to be recalled of times past.”

August 30th the benefice celebrated the end of Revd Rose’s official end to her ministry with us. Luckily it was a dry day and we were able to hold the service outside at Weston Bampfylde all socially distanced!

This September there will be the annual Ride and Stride Fund Raising Event across the diocese to raise money for our churches and for the Redundant Churches Fund. This year Ted Marsh from Sparkford is planning on taking part on his motorised scooter! If you would like to sponsor Ted please contact him on 01963 440634 or tedmarsh29@gmail.com. He is still looking for sponsors having ridden his scooter 21miles last week! A valiant effort. Thank you, Ted.

On Palm Sunday, Weston Bampfylde managed to have a mini procession with the donkeys walking around the village adorned with palm crosses, and the villagers coming out into their gardens to cheer them on their way.
