Marta Fonseca from Portugal is 40 years of age. She is a mother of two girls, aged 7 and 10 (both are studying music) and is faithfully supported by her husband Nuno.
Having studied for four years at the music conservatory in Lisbon in the area of piano, coral and solo singing, Marta has since made two albums of original Gospel recordings. She is currently working on her third album. A very talented singer, Marta sings songs that she herself has written, plus original songs written by Portuguese song writers. At the same time Marta is a very gifted worship leader. One of the strong points that comes through the songs that Marta sings is the wonderful simplicity of the Gospel message, sharing of the living hope we can all have in Christ Jesus.
Marta will be coming to the UK from Monday 4th April 2016 to the 18th April to take part in a program of informal concerts. She will be singing in Portuguese, with all of the lyrics being projected in English on screen so that all can enjoy the message of her music. There will also be the opportunity for everyone to join in with the singing of some well-known and loved hymns in English.
Her visit is being arranged by Chris and Cámica Hembrough, who work in Portuguese speaking Africa through the charity Project Mozambque. During the evening people will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of overseas Christian projects, as well as enjoying the songs that Marta will be singing.
